Spherical plain bearing GE15 ES C3 15x26x12mm DIN ISO 12240-1

The spherical plain bearings are pre-assembled machine elements that are manufactured in accordance with DIN ISO 12-240-1. They are available as radial, axial or angular contact spherical plain bearings.
The selection of the appropriate bearing design depends on the type of load acting on the bearing. In contrast to rolling bearings, spherical plain bearings are plain bearings.
The sliding contact occurs between a spherical inner and outer ring, whereby the sliding pairing is determined according to the specific load case.

Features and structure:
- Inner and outer rings: Spherical plain bearings consist of an inner and an outer ring. The inner ring has a spherical, convex outer surface that fits into the concave inner surface of the outer ring.
- Sliding pairing: The contact surfaces of the rings are designed in such a way that they enable a sliding movement. The materials of the sliding pairing are designed for minimum friction and high wear resistance, often consisting of hardened steel, bronze or PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene).
- Self-lubricating properties: Some spherical plain bearings are self-lubricating, which means that they have lubricants integrated into their materials that reduce friction and simplify maintenance.
- Ease of maintenance: There are both maintenance-free and maintenance-required variants. Spherical plain bearings that require maintenance must be lubricated regularly, while maintenance-free variants offer a longer service life without additional lubrication.
